4 Online Tools That Make Work Easier
1. Google Gmail
https://mail.google.com/mail/
Email may seem too obvious to warrant inclusion in such a list, but I was alive for a good long time without email, and for a good long time after that without web based email. Prior to email you had two options for communication: snail mail, or the telephone. The former was very time consuming, and the latter, very expensive (for long distance).
2. Independent Traveler.com
http://www.independenttraveler.com/packing
I do not have the luxury or need of travel at this time, but for those who have the work of packing, this is a great help. My mother loves this site. You can create your own customized packing list from an extensive list of anything you could possibly need. You can also add 10 additional items.
3. Mindjet Connect
http://www.mindjet.com/mindmanager/
This is for collaborative work: brainstorming, planning, and collaborating with versions for Windows and Mac. It is a cloud storage service that provides a means of guiding and managing the entire process of a project for an organization of any size.
4. Skill Collector - Use Technology to Make Work Easier
https://www.skillcollector.com/automate-your-work/#E1
This site gives step by step instructions for establishing 3 things: a cloud notebook system using Evernote, a calendar using Google Calendar, and. one email system Gmail (also mentioned above), to which emails from all of your accounts are directed. So this site includes 2 additional online tools, but what I really like is that it walks you through each step of getting set up with these sites.

4 Web Sites I visit most
often
1. National Weather
Service Forecast (for Bend)
I check local weather at least once a day.
2. National Public
Radio
I listened to NPR for news for about 30 years, and about 5
years ago I switched to reading it online.
It is more efficient for me. I
enjoy the wide range of news stories, including this one:
3. Central Oregon
Community College Student Login
I use this
almost every day to login to my accounts.
4. KTVZ
I don’t check
this every day, but when I need local news and information, this is where I
usually go.
Admittedly,
none of these sites are very fun, but I just don’t have time for recreational
computer use.

TED talks using visual aids effectively
How painting can
transform communities
The speakers include before and after photos of the
neighborhoods in which large murals were painted to transform poor and
dilapidated neighborhoods.
Extreme wingsuit
flying
Ueli Gegenschatz uses photographs to demonstrate many types
of skydiving and tricks which are otherwise quite unimaginable. He also shows a video of flying in a wingsuit
which has a slower descent because of the increased surface area.
Photos
that give voice to the animal kingdom
Frans Lanting is a photographer who “uses his camera
to drop his skin” so that he can show how animals really are. His goal is to connect people with animals. He uses photos in his talk to this end.
